Sprint 12: Studio Wide Pitches
Pitch night has come and gone at Champlain College. 12 weeks of development has gone by here at The Game Studio and 18 teams presented what they’ve accomplished and why their games should move forward into production. Every team did an amazing job, and besides technical difficulties with the auditorium, it was all around an impressive event. When our team was called to the stage the excitement quickly escalated in the audience. Our fan base on campus made sure they were heard. And then, we started our presentation. Fair warning, there were technical difficulties across all the teams, the audio from this recording is far from ideal, and the crowd blocks the footage at times. With that said, here is our pitch:
Our team is extremely grateful for all the support we received these last 12 weeks and during our presentation. We are truly humbled by all the love shown for our game. We are also extremely relieved to have finally shown this presentation that we have been practicing in secret for several hours every week for over a month. We are proud of what we accomplished and we look forward to hopefully continuing to develop Lucha Megadrive.
Our next challenge is to demo the game for Champlain College faculty. Later today our team will be setting up our game in the Champlain College labs to show off and guide Champlain College faculty through Lucha Megadrive. We get an hour in the labs where faculty members will rotate in and out to play our game. After this event the faculty members then get together in private to discuss the viability and feasibility of each game/team and which ones should continue development into production for next semester. It is a stressful time for the whole studio and great teams and games get cut if there aren’t enough developers to work on them. We are confident in what we’ve made and we can’t wait to watch the faculty members play our game!
